  • 4 C. rolled oats
  • 1 C. sunflower seed
  • 1 C. wheat germ
  • ½ C. sesame seed
  • 1 C. peanuts (or chopped walnuts)
  • 1 C. honey
  • ½ C. canola oil
  • 1 T. cinnamon


  • Preheat oven to 325 °F. Mix the first five ingredients (oats, sunflower seed, sesame seed, wheat germ, and peanuts) together in a large bowl. Place the honey, oil, and cinnamon in a pan and bring to a boil. Immediately remove from heat and pour honey mixture over dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  • Spread on two greased cookie sheets or cake pans. Bake 30 minutes at 325 °F.
  • Stir mixture every 10 minutes (for even browning).
  • Allow to cool undisturbed for at least an hour.
  • Break apart and store in an air tight container.
  • Makes 2 quarts.
