Maple Pecan Breakfast Dish

Egg Dishes


16 oz. raisin cinnamon bread
8 oz. sausage
6 eggs
3 C. milk or 1 1/2 C. half & half
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 C. chopped pecans
2 T. melted butter
2 T. maple syrup

Grease 13x9" baking dish. Cube the bread and layer on the bottom. Brown and drain the sausage and crumble on top of the bread. Combine eggs, milk, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon and pour over the bread and sausage. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Before baking, combine melted butter and maple syrup and drizzle over casserole. Sprinkle pecans on top. Bake at 350F. for 50-60 minutes. (Cover for first half of baking time.)
