My Grandmother's Vanilla Pie



Liquid ingredients:
1 C. sugar
1 C. molasses
4 T. flour
1 egg, well beaten
2 C. water
1 tsp. vanilla

2 C. flour
1 C. brown sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 C. butter
1/4 C. Crisco

Preheat oven to 350F. Combine liquid ingredients in saucepan and bring to a full rolling boil. Set aside to cool. Make crumbs. Once liquid portion is cool, pour into 2 unbaked pie shells and top with crumbs. Bake 40-45 minutes at 350F.
