Overnight Coffee Cake

Breads/Muffins/Coffee Cake/Scones


1/3 C. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 C. butter
1/4 C. packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 C. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 C. buttermilk

1/4 C. packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add egg; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk; beat well. Spread into a greased 8"
square baking pan.

Topping: Combine ingredients; sprinkle over batter. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350F for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
