Lancaster County quilts are a work of art and a labor of love. For generations Amish and Mennonite women have handed down their traditions, skills, and quilt-making patterns. Traveling throughout Lancaster County, you'll find signs offering quilts for sale, but never on a Sunday!

During the spring, throughout Lancaster County, Mud Sales have become a popular tradition. Here many locally made quilts are offered at auction. Our Amish and Mennonite neighbors hold quilting bees all winter long to prepare for these unique annual events.

For the next three years, starting March 24 - 27, 2010, The American Quilt Society will hold their quilt convention in Lancaster, PA. Your Authentic innkeeper will be happy to arrange your stay.
