Pheasant Run Farm Bed and Breakfast
When we moved into our 19th century stone farmhouse in 1985, pheasants walking through the cornfields were a common sight. They, along with the small stream meandering through the pasture, helped us name the farm...and 17 years later, our B&B.
Turning the 1809 barn into a bed and breakfast was a two-year labor of love that required the work of many excellent local craftsmen. All the necessities of modern life were added, along with walls, floors, doors and windows. The pegged chesnut beams, the stone walls, the ladder to the hayloft, all the original architectural elements, were retained to become part of the "new" B&B.
When renovations were completed, decorating began. By blending antiques and Oriental rugs with comfortable new furniture, we tried to create a quiet haven for guests. As innkeepers who appreciate the beauty of nature and love flowers and gardening, we continue to develop the grounds. Our newest addition is an adult-size treehouse that resembles a bird's nest.
It is our goal to provide our guests an atmosphere of serenity and beauty. We invite you to come experience life at its best in beautiful Lancaster County!
