1 C. all-purpose flour 2/3 C. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt Pinch of ground cloves 1/2 C. milk 4 med. pears, peeled & cut in 1/2" cubes 1/2 C. chopped pecans 3/4 C. brown sugar 1/4 C. butter 3/4 C. boiling water
In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients; beat in milk until smooth. Stir in pears and pecans. Spoon into an ungreased 2 qt. baking dish. In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter and water; pour over batter (do not stir). Bake, uncovered at 375F. for 45-50 minutes.
